Qualifications: Entry level with some experience and basic knowledge in the administration of employee benefits, including but not limited to health and welfare benefits, 401K, FMLA, NJFLA and COBRA. Degree preferred, but not required. Intermediate to advanced skills are required in Excel and Word, and must have a the ability to use database systems to compile data and reports. ADP Workforce Now experience, is preferred.  Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.


Benefits & Leave Administration: Day-to-day administration of health and other benefits, including but not limited to Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Life, Disability and COBRA. This includes interfacing with the appropriate third party providers/brokers, as needed. Uploads payroll data to 401k record keeper on a biweekly basis, in a timely manner. Prepares invoices for review and approval by the HR Director. Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level staff.  Conducts or assists with new hire orientations. Responsible for new hire benefits enrollment and waivers, as needed. Advises staff on matters related to leaves of absence and disability. Sends correspondence in a timely manner and within the guidelines set forth by State and Federal laws. Maintains documentation related to FMLA, NJFLA and Disability. Tracks employees’ leave time usage and sends correspondence, as needed. Assists employees in troubleshooting issues with benefits claims or provides linkage with appropriate parties for the same purpose. Manages Open Enrollment periods for all applicable Benefits. Generates reports as needed and at the request of the HR Director. Coordinate benefits with ADP, ensuring payroll deductions are accurate on an on-going basis. Monitor and manage vacation/personal/sick time accruals and usage for all employees using the payroll/HR Database.

Human Resources: Processes all employee terminations, including notifying appropriate staff, COBRA administration, termination of benefits and file archiving. Responds to fact-finding inquiries from outsourced unemployment claims analyst, consults with HR Director as needed. Administers wage garnishments. Conducts annual verifications/abstracts of staff Driver Licenses. Completes and responds to employment verification requests. Processes first reports of injury and administration of worker’s compensation claims. Maintains OSHA log. Assist with 3rd party audit preparation, as needed, including periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. General maintenance of personnel and benefits files, including periodic and regular filing. May assist with payroll functions, including answering employee questions, fixing timecard errors, timecard completion for staff on leave and distributing checks. Assists with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events and holiday parties. Serves as a member of the Cultural Competence Committee. Provides back-up to HR staff, as needed. Performs other duties as required by the Director of HR.
