Qualifications: Current licensures in the State of NJ Including: MD and CDS as well as a current federal DEA certificate are required. Must be Board Certified or Board eligible. Experience in Forensic Psychiatry is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities: Evaluate all individuals referred to the AOT program and determine the appropriateness of completing a physician’s commitment certification. Provide psychiatric evaluations to determine the on-going and continued appropriateness of consumers maintaining AOT treatment with regard to the least possible restrictive setting. Re-assess AOT consumers prior to court review proceedings and provide live testimony at all court hearings. Prescribe, administer and monitor psychotropic medication to program consumers as needed. Provide clinical oversight and direction to the AOT program staff.
