Qualification: Master’s Degree in Mental Health Discipline or Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years experience working with psychiatric consumers required.  Experience with psychiatric disability and psycho-social rehabilitation preferred, as well as group work and milieu management experience, supervisory, computer and statistical skills. Valid Driver’s License and the ability to drive a van.

Responsibilities: Overall responsibility for management of Prospect House (PH) Seniors Program to ensure achievement of program objectives: provide partial care services to elders with severe and persistent mental illness, to enhance community functioning. Facilitates all MICA groups (12 Steps, Medication, Drugs and Symptoms, Long Term Sobriety, Relapse Prevention and Weekend Planning) implemented by PH Director and Clinical Coordinator.   Oversees consumer ran group (Fresh Start and Community AA meetings). Oversees/Coordinates Monthly Drug and Alcohol Screening.  Provides recommended treatment for MICA consumers. Trains clinical staff if needed regarding the MICA population when requested. Leads MICA team through weekly meetings and audits.  Ensures minutes are completed from MICA team meetings.

Supervision of Unit StaffHiring, training, orienting and supervising BA level case management staff. 

Clinical Supervision: Individual and group supervision of case management, coping groups planning and facilitation, milieu management, crisis intervention, case presentation.

Staff Development: Provide continuing education opportunities through provision of in-service training in psycho-pathology, crisis management, gerontology, group and milieu skills aspects of psycho-social rehabilitation.  

Program Supervision: Program development to promote growth and expansion of services. Investigation of incidents, preparation of incident reports; review incident reports with Program Director; take follow-up measures as required.

Direct Service: Plan and facilitate therapy, coping, activity, and psycho-educational groups to enhance social skills and promote relapse prevention and independent living. Provide case management services for members, including coordination of medical, psychiatric, financial, residential, social, and legal needs of assigned members. Crisis intervention and in coordination with Program Director. Regular goal-setting with members. Assist members to obtain entitlements.  Consult regularly with Prospect House program psychiatrists.  Consumer advocacy and outreach.  Record keeping as required by funding sources through the electronic clinical record software and/or accreditation agencies, including case notes, group therapy notes, treatment planning, termination summaries, correspondence with insurance providers, outcome data. Evening, weekend and holiday social program coverage as required by program needs.

Administrative: Participate in regular supervisors and PH staff meetings, in-service trainings, selected task force meetings and other assigned meetings. Plan and lead weekly unit meeting. Administration of grants for the Senior Program including preparation of monthly statistics, quarterly narrative reports, final reports, research reports. Coordinate site visits from and meet with grantor. Represent agency at regular local meetings pertaining to grants when applicable.Conduct needs assessment for relocating Seniors Program to suburban Essex County. Compilation of statistics, reports and other data as required. Conduct job evaluations of program staff. Meet with Chief Executive Officer as needed. Liaison with area agencies which serve as referral sources of Seniors Program. Develop program brochure and disseminate to referral sources. Communicate program services and needs to visitors, other agencies and the general public.

Other: Collaborate with Intake Services to recruit and screen prospective Senior members, as required by Chief Executive Officer. Public relations to referring agencies, hospitals in community, as required. Participation in appropriate professional, family and civic organizations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director. Must meet all expected productivity levels, in regard to direct service provision to consumers.
